encouraged in the end
Here we are less than 6 weeks from departure and we are feeling greatly encouraged in so many ways. Relationally, spiritually, emotionally; we feel encouraged by the Lord.
First off, Zach Seeley, son of Tim and Mindy, who you can find here seeleyfamily87@wordpress.com , is staying with us for the week. Now I have to say I've never regretted having a son...but Zach is a great source of fun and a bright spot in our house this week. School goes better with him here. Life rolls along quicker with him here. All in all, we may just not let him go home!
He and the girls are all out in the pool right now and I think everyone is having a great time. Last night we watched "The Fantastic Mr. Fox" at Zach's prompting. (Well actually, he put off watching his real love...The Minnesota Wild hockey game, to show us the movie!)
Even Algebra is rolling along better this week. Perhaps the fact that we are on lesson 100 out of 120 and the end is in sight makes it seem less daunting. But all my students seem to be moving along with order and diligence these days, which is a delight! We continue to wait on a word about the home we're seeking to buy. Apparently the agent hasn't even made the offer yet due to bits and pieces of information she hasn't possessed. So we wait and hope and pray. We both can see ourselves living in that house for many years to come, but God will determine our steps.
This past weekend we had Chris Jessee staying with us from Metro Life Church, Orlando. Aron Osborne was also here, but stayed elsewhere. Chris and his sweet wife Stephanie have become friends to us in the last year. This last trip was Chris's 4th visit to Nassau in 12 months. He will be heading up the Music Camp Mission taking place in July. Though we will not be able to take part in this ministry of KLC this year, we know Chris and his team will do a fabulous job with the kids.
Our family continues to host Care Group each week and serve on the Worship Team and in the tech room. Keith continues to carry a full plate of preaching fairly often (Sunday coming!), leading Alternatives (ministry to the unemployed), teaching Christianity Explored, and fulfilling his usual worship ministry and office responsibilities. This past Sunday we also hosted a dinner for 13 in our home with our KLC leadership team (elders and families) and Aron Osborne and Chris Jessee. While our home is still functional and plates and cookware are still unboxed, we will make the most of these times.
Keep us in your prayers, friends. We are experiencing the sustaining power of the Holy Spirit and look forward to all that lies ahead.
