in front of bob....

Talk about regrets!  I think I regret ever taking violin lessons.  Or maybe I really regret quitting them.  Today was Keith's chance to lead worship at the PC.  You only get one chance all year.  He has laryngitis.  Oh, the ways of God!  And then to make things even more entertaining, he asked me to play violin, while another PC friend played guitar.  We rehearsed a total of 20 minutes last night.  Yep.  20 minutes under my belt before I play in front of Bob Kaufflin and Joel Sczebel.  You heard it here first.

Oh well.  My true audience is my Lord, not the producer of all things music for Sovereign Grace.  The good part for me was there were no microphones, so perhaps any stray notes I played were only audible to me.  I think Bob said something like, "You all played skillfully together."  Hmmm.

Oh God help me to always play and live for your eyes alone.  Let my heart be steadfast toward you alone.  Let the applause of men be faint to me, so that whether it is loud and robust or strained and inaudible, I am not swayed or driven off course from my divine purpose.  To this end may I live each day, to the glory of your name.  Amen.
